Rebecca Cohen: Bio

“Rebecca Cohen, like her songs, is playful, passionate and clever, and should not be missed!" - Scott Katz

“A delightful songwriter – songs of humor, heart and a warm love of life.” - Heidi Muller

Portland singer-songwriter Rebecca Cohen is the whole package. Originally from the Boston area, she has been singing since childhood and writing songs since the early '90s. Since 1993 she has performed at most of your favorite northwest folk festivals and numerous coffeehouses and house concerts around the region. Sometimes inspiring, sometimes humorous: these are perpetually intriguing songs of longing, satisfaction and frank befuddlement.

A capella, with guitar or upright bass, Rebecca’s richly versatile alto is a luxurious vehicle for rousing singalongs, tender ballads and forays into the absurd. Each song is a finely-crafted excursion into lands rich in visual imagery. Rebecca has performed with Linda Waterfall, Heidi Muller, Nancy K. Dillon, Matt Price, Scott Katz and anyone who who needs a stand-up bass player. In addition to her solo work, Rebecca also plays and sings in a duo with Robin McGillveray and sings in Mark Bosnian's band B3.

A seasoned and personable performer, Rebecca is a colorful, clever, engaging entertainer whose passion for life is infectious: she'll have you singing along in no time.
